A journey towards spirituality and enlightenment.
What a lovely experience going to the ashram in Sonepat. A spiritual environement surrounded by the lovely chanting of the mantras, the young girls singing bhajans, acharayas giving speeches that are enlightening and are applied in day to day life experiences . There were also young girls who had come from a school in jharkand who recite
d some poems based on spirituality in a manner in which the audience understood what was trying to be conveyed through the poems.
For those who do not know about the arya samaj I will discuss briefly the chief beliefs of the arya samaj. Efforts have been made to implement these beliefs in gurukuls in India. They are:
- Equality of human beings in forming an opportunity for all.
- Empowerement of women as described in the Vedas.
I remember from the time I was younger I would sit for the havan and chant all the mantras religiously and am grateful for learning that from my grandfather who made sure we sit for the havan everyday. These mantras also helped me gain positive energy and create that ray of hope when things do not go in a particular direction.
This is the gayatri mantra which I also chant before going to sleep.
